A Year of Charity
Newport-based retail systems manufacturer and supplier Tellermate, is congratulating its employees after a series of charity events have raised £2,250 for a number of national and local charities.
Staff have participated in a variety of organised events, including a sponsored abseil from Newport's famous Transporter Bridge, initiatives like 'Bring a pound to work day' and running the Sport Relief Mile.
Helen Pilkington, sales and marketing support manager, said;
"We have always been extremely proud of the interest that our staff take in both the local community and national appeals. Our team have a great track record in raising money for charity and for a small team have participated in a large number of events.
"Our staff proactively look for fundraising initiatives that they can be part of and the company does as much as possible to support them. The team raised most of the cash through private sponsorships which is a huge achievement in the current climate. The company and some of our local suppliers such as Belmey, Devlin, Pavecost and Online Packaging have also been very generous in their support, ensuring that the teams' entrance fees for events were covered."
Tellermate's staff fundraising campaign is set to continue throughout 2010 with the team already on the look out for more events and opportunities to take part in.
Charities that have already benefitted from the company's campaign include Childline Cymru, The Sparkle Appeal, St Davids Foundation and Comic Relief.
